Heidi Kanter

Jordan Betten, Board Chair

Jordan Betten is a Henderson-based real estate developer, broker, and entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience specializing in residential investments, luxury real estate, and value-add development projects throughout Southern Nevada. He is the founder of The Betten Group at Simply Vegas and manages a large portfolio of residential rental properties and development projects across the Las Vegas and Henderson markets.

In addition to his professional experience, Jordan has a longstanding passion for education, mentorship, and youth development. He previously volunteered as an early childhood teacher with Project TEN in Gondar, Ethiopia, where he worked directly with young students in underserved communities. He has also volunteered as a mentor with Mentor Matchmaker, helping educate and guide young entrepreneurs in professional and personal development.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in education, including a father who served as an elementary school teacher, Jordan developed an early appreciation for the importance of strong educational foundations and supportive learning environments for children.

As Chairman of Kesher Academy and a parent, Jordan is passionate about helping establish Henderson’s first Hebrew language charter school focused on academic excellence, multilingual learning, character development, and building a strong sense of community for future generations.

Rev. Dr. Adrian N. Doll

Adrian is the Senior Pastor of Green Valley Presbyterian Church in Henderson, Nevada. Prior to coming to Nevada, Adrian served churches in Orange County, California; the San Francisco Bay area; and Northeast Ohio. He has a passion for spiritual renewal, preaching, and teaching.

Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his commitment to ecumenical dialogue, most especially Jewish-Christian dialogue. He also has a special interest in the correlation between spirituality and holistic health.

Adrian holds degrees from the University of Illinois, the National University of Health Sciences, and Fuller Theological Seminary. In 2021, he earned his Doctorate in Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary, and his dissertation focused on the ancient discipline of set hours of prayer and its application within a contemporary Protestant setting. His blogs may be found at www.greenvalleypres.com. He is also the co-host of “Faith Matters,” a podcast focused on Jewish-Christian dialogue with co-host Rabbi Sandy Akselrad. Adrian finds inspiration in the beauty of God’s creation, and he enjoys hiking, music, travel, studying Hebrew, reading, and rich conversations with good friends. Adrian’s wife, Janel, is a visiting assistant professor.

Hilary Unger

Hilary Unger is a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a Flight Attendant, and the proud mother of her daughter, Amelia. She has spent the past 25 years with Southwest Airlines, where her work has centered on safety, teamwork, and creating welcoming experiences for people from all walks of life. Her time in both the military and the airline industry has given her a strong appreciation for service, community, and the importance of working together toward a shared goal. She is currently double-majoring in Religious Studies and Jewish History at the University of California, Long Beach.

As a parent, Hilary cares deeply about education and helping children feel supported, curious, and confident as they begin their learning journeys. These values are what drew her to support Kesher Academy and its mission to build a strong, inclusive foundation for young learners in the Henderson community.

Hilary is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a new K–2 charter school and to help create a school environment where students, families, and educators feel connected and empowered. She looks forward to supporting Kesher Academy as it develops into a vibrant learning community for its students and families.

Sara Garcia

Board Member, Kesher Academy & Director of Education, Lashon Academy

Sara Garcia is a passionate advocate for educational equity, systemic excellence, and global awareness, bringing a wealth of executive leadership and a proven track record of academic success to the Kesher Academy board. A native Californian raised in Los Angeles and Orange counties, Sara embodies a deep commitment to her community and a global perspective shaped by her diverse heritage of French, Irish, Spanish, and Indigenous American lineage.

As a member of the founding administrative team for Lashon Academy in 2014, Sara has spearheaded the organization’s strategic growth and academic distinction. Under her leadership as Director of Education, Lashon Academy secured back-to-back California Distinguished School awards and was ranked in the top 10% of California elementary charter schools by U.S. News & World Report. Recognizing this exceptional performance, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) granted Lashon Academy a historic 7-year charter renewal—the first charter school in the county’s jurisdiction to achieve this milestone due to its state determination as a high-performing charter school. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 academic year, Sara is directing the organization through a pivotal phase of growth, overseeing four expanding campuses across Los Angeles.

Throughout her career, Sara has focused on breaking barriers and creating pathways for students from underserved communities. Her professional journey spans teaching in traditional public school districts and serving as an executive administrator in the public charter system, where she has worked extensively with students from low socio-economic and immigrant backgrounds. These experiences have deepened her belief in the power of education to transform lives and her commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.

Heidi Kanter

Heidi Kanter is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience inspiring students from diverse backgrounds. She currently teaches fifth grade at Nevada Learning Academy, where she excels at delivering high-quality, innovative virtual instruction. Throughout her distinguished career, Heidi has been recognized as a leader and mentor, holding vital roles such as Grade Level Team Lead, Technology Committee Chair, and Site Technology Coordinator. Her dedication to excellence has earned her prestigious accolades, including the Renaissance ReadQuest ’16 National Award and recognition as a National Master Teacher by Renaissance Learning.

Heidi’s teaching philosophy heavily centers on arts integration and social-emotional learning—a holistic approach she developed while earning a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Theater from the University of Connecticut, followed by a Master of Science in Education from the University of Miami. Her deep passion for the theater and the arts shapes her digital classroom, allowing her to infuse creativity, voice, and performance into daily lessons to inspire her students’ imaginations. As a Google Certified Educator and a recognized “Computer Super User,” she seamlessly bridges the gap between technology and human connection, mentoring fellow teachers and designing school-wide reading programs that cultivate inclusive, empathy-driven environments.

Beyond the classroom, Heidi’s deepest source of inspiration is her daughter, Delaney, who is currently a sophmore at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Watching Delaney thrive in a creative community beautifully aligns with Heidi’s own lifelong love for theater and reinforces her commitment to supportive educational spaces. Living and working in Southern Nevada, Heidi brings both her perspective as a veteran educator and her heart as a parent to her mission, continuously working to ensure that future generations feel empowered, connected, and deeply valued as they learn and grow.
