Sara Garcia
Sara Garcia is a passionate advocate for educational equity, systemic excellence, and global awareness, bringing a wealth of executive leadership and a proven track record of academic success to the Kesher Academy board. A native Californian raised in Los Angeles and Orange counties, Sara embodies a deep commitment to her community and a global perspective shaped by her diverse heritage of French, Irish, Spanish, and Indigenous American lineage.
As a member of the founding administrative team for Lashon Academy in 2014, Sara has spearheaded the organization’s strategic growth and academic distinction. Under her leadership as Director of Education, Lashon Academy secured back-to-back California Distinguished School awards and was ranked in the top 10% of California elementary charter schools by U.S. News & World Report. Recognizing this exceptional performance, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) granted Lashon Academy a historic 7-year charter renewal—the first charter school in the county’s jurisdiction to achieve this milestone due to its state determination as a high-performing charter school. Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 academic year, Sara is directing the organization through a pivotal phase of growth, overseeing four expanding campuses across Los Angeles.
Throughout her career, Sara has focused on breaking barriers and creating pathways for students from underserved communities. Her professional journey spans teaching in traditional public school districts and serving as an executive administrator in the public charter system, where she has worked extensively with students from low socio-economic and immigrant backgrounds. These experiences have deepened her belief in the power of education to transform lives and her commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
